Italy Emerges as a Key Market for EV Charging Infrastructure
As a major energy hub in Southern Europe, Italy is accelerating the electrification of its transportation sector. The government has integrated EV charging infrastructure development into its national energy transition strategy, supported by strong policy incentives.
Key initiatives include:
Home Charging Subsidy Program
Italy has relaunched its residential EV charger subsidy program, covering up to 80% of the purchase and installation costs.
Individual users can receive up to €1,500
Installations in shared residential buildings can receive up to €8,000
This policy significantly stimulates the demand for home charging systems and distributed charging infrastructure.
€741 Million Investment in Charging Infrastructure
The government has allocated €741 million in funding for low-emission transportation infrastructure, encouraging:
Deployment of public charging stations
Integration of solar energy and EV chargers in new buildings
Expansion of smart charging networks
Italy aims to install 300,000 public charging points by 2030, creating major opportunities for EV charging equipment providers.
€1.2 Billion Electric Vehicle Incentive Program
Italy has also launched a €1.2 billion EV purchase subsidy program, encouraging both domestic manufacturers such as Fiat and Ferrari and international brands to expand their electric vehicle offerings.
This rapid EV adoption is driving demand for high-efficiency charging systems and integrated solar-storage-charging solutions.
High-Efficiency EV Charging Power Modules from Tonhe Technology
At the exhibition, Tonhe Technology highlighted its advanced EV charging power module portfolio, engineered to meet European grid standards and certification requirements.

40kW and 50kW Charging Modules
Tonhe’s 40kW and 50kW charging modules share the same compact size and are CE certified by TÜV.
Key specifications include:
Peak efficiency ≥ 97.2%
Weighted efficiency ≥ 96.5%
Compliance with IEC 61851-23:2023
High power density and stable performance
These modules enable European charger manufacturers to accelerate CE certification, reduce development costs, and improve system efficiency.
40kW Liquid-Cooled Charging Power Module
Tonhe also introduced its 40kW liquid-cooled charging module, designed for next-generation ultra-fast EV charging stations.
Key features include:
IP65 protection rating
Peak efficiency ≥ 97.2%
Zero-noise operation
Maintenance-free design
The liquid-cooled architecture makes it ideal for high-power charging systems and harsh operating environments, supporting the development of Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS) for heavy-duty electric vehicles.

DC/DC and V2G Modules for Smart Energy Systems
Tonhe Technology also demonstrated power conversion solutions for integrated energy systems, including:
30kW unidirectional DC/DC module
20kW bidirectional V2G module
These modules support applications such as:
Solar-storage-charging integrated systems
Smart energy management platforms
Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) energy interaction
With efficiency exceeding 98% and ultra-low noise of only 55 dB, these solutions enable high-efficiency energy utilization and environmentally friendly operation.
CCS2 Charging Station Solution for the European Market
In addition to charging modules, Tonhe Technology introduced its CCS2 EV charging station solution specifically designed for Europe.
This complete solution helps local electrical companies, energy providers, and system integrators quickly deploy EV charging infrastructure and expand into the rapidly growing European electric mobility market.
